On February 26, the OpenClaw creator, Peter Steigenberger, reiterated his anti-crypto stance again on X. His attack on crypto comes following previous negative comments about the Bitcoin and crypto community.

OpenClaw, formerly known as Clawdbot and Moltbot, is a free and open-source autonomous AI platform developed by Steigenberger. The platform was recently featured on CT and also in mainstream media, with fearmongering news reporting a presumed AI attack on the world.

The reports were eventually dismissed as fake, and no AI agents were actually planning to take over; everything was no more than a social experiment.

OpenClaw’s creator attacks on the crypto community

Yesterday, Steigenberger posted a message on X, saying “don’t waste time with crypto” as a response to a user who asked him what the best advice is for someone in his 20s.

This was not the first time OpenClaw’s creator attacked crypto.

On February 21, an X user revealed that he was banned from the platform’s Discord channel for saying “Bitcoin,” asking Steigenberger to unblock him.

The AI platform’s boss responded that they have strict server rules that the user accepted when he entered, and “no crypto mentions” is one of them.

On February 4, he criticized the industry, highlighting that he doesn’t support crypto and sharing a hateful message from a user who said that multiple investors lost crypto because he changed his name.

Steigenberger said that he got multiple messages even worse than the one he shared on X.

On the other hand, OpenClaw’s creator joined OpenAI on February 14. The company’s CEO, Sam Altman, co-founded Worldcoin, a project aiming to create a privacy-focused digital identity using the Orb technology.

Should we stay away from crypto?

The answer to this question is simple: everyone has the right to get involved in crypto or not, to support the industry or not, especially after doing enough research to fully understand it and make an informed decision.

However, attacking an entire industry based on some aggressive comments is not fair. Every industry or group has hateful people inside, but they don’t mirror the entire sector.

The crypto industry is no exception, and there are plenty of bad actors involved in it, just like in any other group. But we shouldn’t judge the whole community based on a few bad examples.

We shouldn’t censor what we don’t like or agree with (if such matters don’t go against the well-being of humanity, especially children); instead, we should educate people to be open to other opinions and accept or debate them without hate.

Different opinions don’t ruin the world; hate, violence, and war do.

Crypto is also filled with people who believe in something and work hard to advance projects that bring benefits.

Bitcoin and crypto have proven huge resilience over time

Crypto, and especially Bitcoin, has proved an amazing resilience over time, despite all the FUD that has been plaguing this industry over the years.

Not only were crypto projects attacked over time, but even the name of the Bitcoin anonymous creator has been trashed over the years. This is one of the key reasons it’s good that Satoshi Nakamoto maintained anonymity.

Also, even huge crypto platforms have been the center of multiple attacks. Binance is probably the best example, despite everything that it has done for the industry.

However, amidst all the hate and attacks, its founders, members, and all supporters continued to build useful projects for the world, without letting go of their core principles and aims.

Bitcoin itself managed to survive over the years, giving people hope, freedom, and teaching the world countless lessons that go beyond material wealth.

This is one of the many reasons why Bitcoin gained huge interest over time, not only from enormous institutions, like the IMF and huge banking giants, but also from retail investors.
