Greeks.live notes that 20,000 BTC options expired with a Put Call Ratio of 0.69, a Maxpain point of $97,000, and a notional value of $1.93 billion.
Also, 206,000 ETH options expired with a Put Call Ratio of 0.81, a Maxpain point of $3,400, and a notional value of $710 million.
The first weekly options delivery data comes amidst an optimistic market with Bitcoin kicking off 2025 on an ascendant path.
Bitcoin Trades Above $96,000
At the moment of writing this article, BTC is trading above $96,000, up by around 1% today, having a market cap of $1.91 trillion.
BTC kicked off the week trading below $93,000 on January 1 but recorded an upward trajectory since, hitting $97,700 yesterday, marking an optimistic debut of the year.
Earlier today, Satoshi Act Fund’s CEO, Dennis Porter, confirmed that at least 13 states are working on Strategic Bitcoin Reserve legislation, saying that January will be a record-breaking month for BTC policy.
Ethereum also debuted a price rally on the first day of this year.
Ethereum Trades Above $3,400
At the moment of writing this article, ETH is trading above $3,400, up by 2% today, having a market cap of over $414 billion.
On January 1, ETH was trading at $3,318 and hit a high above $3,490 on January 2, when it reached a market cap above $420 billion.
Optimistic Expectations for 2025
In their X post, Greeks.live noted that European and American clients are gradually returning from their holidays and the crypto market is expected to pick up overall heat.
The crypto market is fueled by optimism. The ecosystem expects great achievements this year for BTC and the entire industry.
The optimistic price predictions for Bitcoin are mostly fueled by the upcoming Trump administration in the US set to debut on January 20, continued institutional interest in the crypto market, and rising global adoption, among other factors. More consistent flows are expected to reach the US Bitcoin ETFs this year, supporting BTC’s price.
It’s also worth noting that today, January 3, marks Bitcoin’s 16th anniversary. On January 3, 2009, Satoshi Nakamoto mined the Bitcoin Genesis Block on a small server in Helsinki, Finland. The block contained the message “The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks.”
