On August 4th, Binance announced its 30th project on the HODLer Airdrops portal - Towns (TOWNS), before listing the digital asset.
Towns Protocol (TOWNS) is a communication infrastructure project that was created to enable developers to build real-time messaging apps. The project includes an EVM-compatible L2 blockchain, decentralized stream nodes for message delivery, and smart contracts deployed on Base and Ethereum L2.
Towns enables the creation of programmable group chats called Spaces, which support the following:
- Encrypted messaging
- On-chain memberships
- Staking mechanisms
- Monetization via smart contract functionality

Binance's TOWN Details for HODLer Airdrops
In an official announcement, Binance revealed that users who subscribed their BNB holdings to Simple Earn (Flexible and/or Locked) and/or On-Chain Yields products starting on July 14 at 00:00 (UTC) until July 17 at 23:59 (UTC) are eligible for the airdrop.
The crypto exchange also revealed the following important notes about TOWNS and the airdrop:
- The Genesis total supply is over 10,12 billion TOWNS tokens.
- The Maximum token supply is over 15,3 billion TOWNS tokens.
- The HODLer Airdrops token rewards is over 305,8 million TOWNS tokens, representing a little over 3% of the Genesis total token supply.
- The circulating supply at Binance listing is over 2,1 billion TOWNS tokens, or 20.83% of the Genesis total token supply.
- There will be no listing fee for TOWNS on Binance.
Binance's HODLer Airdrops project was created by the exchange to retroactively reward users based on historical snapshots of their BNB holdings.
In the same official announcement, the crypto exchange also revealed that it will list the project.
Binance's TOWNS Listing Details
Binance will list TOWNS on August 5 at 14:30 (UTC), and it will open trading for the following pairs:
- TOWNS/USDC
- TOWNS/USDT
- TOWNS/BNB
- TOWNS/FDUSD
- TOWNS/TRY
TOWNS will be listed with the Seed Tag applied, meaning that the project is a newer one and it might exhibit higher volatilty compared to other projects that are listed on the exchange. Users are advised to DYOR before deciding to invest.
Binance will first list the digital asset on Binance Alpha - the platform created by the crypto exchange to showcase early-stage projects that have growth potential in the Web3 ecosystem.
