Binance has announced the 60th project on its Launchpool platform, Scroll (SCR), a zkEVM (Zero-Knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine) rollup designed to improve the scalability of Ethereum.

Users can begin farming SCR tokens by locking BNB or FDUSD starting from October 9, 2024. The farming period will last for two days, after which Binance will list SCR on its Pre-Market platform starting October 11, 2024.

Scroll (SCR) on Binance Launchpool

Scroll is a layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum that leverages zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) to improve transaction speed, lower fees, and maintain compatibility with Ethereum's ecosystem. Users participating in Binance Launchpool can lock their BNB and FDUSD to earn SCR tokens through airdrops. The total rewards available during the farming period are 55,000,000 SCR, representing 5.5% of the total token supply. The farming period runs from October 9 to October 10, 2024.

Farming Breakdown

  • BNB Pool: 46,750,000 SCR in rewards (85% of the total)
  • FDUSD Pool: 8,250,000 SCR in rewards (15% of the total)
  • Hourly Cap per User: 97,395 SCR for BNB pool and 17,187 SCR for FDUSD pool

Binance Pre-Market Trading for SCR

Following the Launchpool, Binance will list Scroll on its Pre-Market platform on October 11, 2024. This allows users to trade SCR/USDT before the token’s official spot listing. Binance Pre-Market provides an early opportunity for users to access tokens before they become available on the wider market. The official spot listing time will be announced later.

Scroll: A zkEVM Solution

Scroll’s zkEVM rollup enables Ethereum scalability while maintaining full compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). Its zkEVM architecture ensures smart contracts can execute efficiently and securely, while ZKPs verify the validity of transactions without revealing private data.

Key Features

  • Ethereum Compatibility: Seamlessly ports Ethereum smart contracts with minimal adjustments.
  • Scalability: Offloads computation to reduce congestion on the Ethereum mainnet.
  • Security: ZKP-based proof verification provides strong security without exposing sensitive data.
  • Cost-Efficiency: Lower transaction fees due to scalability improvements.

The Future of Scroll

With zkEVM rollups gaining momentum as a crucial scaling solution, Scroll is well-positioned to play a significant role in Ethereum’s future. Its focus on security, scalability, and compatibility with Ethereum’s ecosystem makes it a promising layer-2 solution for developers and users alike.
