Bitcoin debuted this week with bullish moves, following a drop below the important $100,000 level on June 22. Today, June 23, Bitcoin managed to surge above $101,000, amidst optimism in the crypto market stemming from a potential end to the Israel-Iran war.

Israel Wants to End the Iran Conflict Soon

According to recent reports from the Wall Street Journal, while Israel continued its strike targets in Iran, the country is looking to end the war. The publication quoted Israeli and Arab officials, highlighting that Israel is capitalizing on the US attack on key nuclear sites to look toward an end to the war.

Official reports from WSJ revealed that the UN’s atomic-agency chief said that the US attacks on Iran’s Fordow enrichment site were expected to have caused “very significant damage.”

Israel hit a prison where political prisoners and regime opponents are held, and entry points to the Fordow complex – Iran’s most important nuclear enrichment facility.

Tehran reportedly gave a few clues on its response to the US attack, and it was revealed that now, the regime’s clerical leaders face two options:

Hit back at the US and risk the continuation and escalation of the war
Return to nuclear talks where they would likely have to make concessions on nuclear enrichment and their ballistic-missile arsenal (which are the two most important pillars of the country’s sovereignty)

The Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei commented for the first time since the US attack in a post via X, saying that Israel made a grave mistake and it’s being punished right now.

Leaders in Europe urged Iran not to escalate the war in a destabilizing way, and the US President Donald Trump reportedly gave no ground on his demand for Iran to agree to the US terms for a peace deal.

Meanwhile, the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, met with Iran’s foreign minister in Moscow, saying that the US attack over the weekend was not justified; Russia is reportedly planning on offering support for the Iranian people, according to WSJ.

In this context, in which the Israel-Iran war could end soon, the crypto market received a dose of optimism, mirrored by Bitcoin’s price at the beginning of this week.

Bitcoin Reclaimed $101,000 on June 23

At the moment of writing this article, BTC is trading above $101,000, following the price drop to $98,000 levels on June 22.

Bitcoin’s price is supported by the crypto market’s optimism, continued institutional interest, and further acquisitions by BTC-centric companies like Metaplanet and Strategy₿.

On June 23, Michael Saylor shared a post on X, revealing that Strategy₿ bought 245 BTC for approximately $26 million at over $105,800 per coin, achieving a yield of over 19% in 2025. As of June 22, Strategy₿ is holding 592,345 BTC worth over $59,9 billion at current prices.

Metaplanet, another BTC-centric company, also bought 1,111 BTC, raising its total holdings to 11,111 BTC now worth over $1,12 billion at current prices.
