Key Points
- Bitdeer Technologies has successfully tested a self-designed 4nm bitcoin mining chip.
- The chip is expected to enhance mining performance with minimized power consumption.
Bitdeer Technologies, a Singapore-based Bitcoin mining company, has announced the successful testing of its first self-developed Bitcoin mining chip. This chip will be used in their forthcoming mining rig, the Sealminer A1.
Details of the Chip
The SEAL01 chip, designed using 4-nanometer process technology from a semiconductor fabricator, boasts a power efficiency ratio of 18.1 J/TH, according to Bitdeer. The company emphasizes that the chip’s superior efficiency will lead to lower operational costs and a smaller environmental footprint for miners.
Prepared for Upcoming Bitcoin Halving
The new chip is expected to optimize efficiency, stability, and performance, gearing up for the anticipated Bitcoin halving event in April. However, Bitdeer has not revealed when its new mining rig will be launched.
Bitdeer’s shares saw an increase of 2.11%, closing at $6.76 on Nasdaq last Friday.
