Key Points

  • “Mugshot Edition” NFT buyers receive their bonus Bitcoin Ordinals.
  • Interest in Trump NFTs has declined after initial heavy trading volume.

Customers who purchased the “Mugshot Edition” non-fungible tokens (NFTs) linked to former President Donald Trump have received their bonus Bitcoin Ordinals, according to the company responsible for these NFT collections.

Exclusive Bonus for NFT Buyers

The company had previously stated that certain buyers of the “Mugshot Edition” would be entitled to a unique Bitcoin Ordinal as part of their purchase. It has now confirmed that these Bitcoin Ordinals have been officially inscribed on the Bitcoin blockchain.

The “Mugshot Edition” NFTs were launched by the company late last year. It was announced that any customer who purchased 47 NFTs in a single transaction would receive both a dinner with Trump and a physical trading card that includes a piece of the suit he wore during his famous mugshot. Those who bought 100 Trump NFTs were eligible for the Bitcoin Ordinal.

Trump NFTs: Interest Cools Down

The “Mugshot Edition” NFTs are just one of several collections created by the company using Trump’s likeness. After a period of heavy trading volume following the launch of the first edition in late 2022, interest in Trump NFTs has since cooled.

The company’s website clarifies that it is not owned, managed, or controlled by Donald J. Trump, The Trump Organization, CIC Digital LLC, or any of their respective principals or affiliates. Instead, the company uses Trump’s name, likeness, and image under a paid license from CIC Digital LLC, which may be terminated or revoked according to its terms.

It’s worth noting that the former president and reality TV star has previously been listed as the manager, president, secretary, and treasurer of CIC Digital LLC, as per disclosures posted by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.
