On June 17, the team at Status announced via their X account that Multichain is easy on Status Mobile and Desktop.
They reported that an EIP-3770 extension supports multiple chain short names, which show the networks that a user will accept the funds on. When sending to the address, Status Wallet automatically finds the cheapest bridging route.
On June 16, the team announced that today, everyone who registered for status Mobile Beta access would be able to join them in the Status Community from their phone.
They also said that all the necessary info that is required to get started with Status Mobile Beta was on its way.
On June 14, the team at Status shared a post revealing a new dawn for Status and SNT. They wrote that soon, SNT holders will vote for the introduction of SNT Staking which is a decentralized friend finder.
They also revealed a new blog post called “A New Dawn for Status and SNT: Embracing Decentralisation.”
In the post, the team noted that the new Status Desktop and upcoming Status Mobile apps are set to rival Discord offering a fully decentralized, on-chain communication platform that comes with a built-in multichain wallet.
They also wrote that the integration of the EIP-3770 address format pioneered by Safe supports multiple chain short names, enabling users to effortlessly transact across supported Ethereum L2s – even if they don’t know what an Ethereum L2 is.
The blog post also noted that starting on 20 June, the team will hold our first community vote on Snapshot. The vote will close on 27 June. SNT holders will help them decide on the priority for three major projects.

The Status Network Token is a modular utility token that fuels the network as a whole. It is free to use and communicate with. Users do need SNT to access features of the Status Mobile Ethereum Client.
