According to the latest official reports from Binance, the non-profit organization Binance Charity will support users in Romania and other European countries who have been affected by the devastating floods caused by Storm Boris in Central Europe.
This is a humanitarian effort by the exchange to support people who have been impacted by the natural disaster.
Binance Charity to Donate Over $1.16M in BNB via Airdrop
As a response to the recent tragedy, Binance Charity is reportedly distributing $1,164,950 in BNB via airdrop to Binance users who are identified as living in the areas that have been affected the most.
User identification will be based on proof of address (POA) completed by September 18, 2024, indicating that they live in the most affected areas of Romania. Users who are identified as living in these areas will receive $50 in BNB directly to their exchange account.
According to official notes from Binance, the exchange acknowledges that there may be many users in the affected areas who might not have yet completed their POA.
For any existing user who completes the POA after September 20, 2024, and before October 11, 2024, Binance will donate the additional amount of $25 in BNB to the Binance user account. According to the exchange, these funds will reach users by October 11, 2024.
Ilie Pușcaș, Country Manager of Binance Romania, issued an official statement, highlighting that the effects of the recent floods in Romania have been devastating, leading to home and property destruction along with significant loss of life.
He said that Binance aims to provide support to those affected, hoping that their users who receive these donations will use the funds in the best possible way at a local level, for their own needs, or for the benefit of their loved ones. Funds can be also used for local communities where the need is the greatest.
Binance stated that it stands with all its users and will continue to work on more ways to help the affected members of the community.
