Elon Musk has announced that he is working on an alternative to ChatGPT called “TruthGPT.” The new AI system aims to seek maximum truth and avoid the potential destruction of humanity caused by traditional AI systems. Musk shared his vision during an interview with Tucker Carlson on Fox News.

During an interview with Fox News’s Tucker Carlson, Elon Musk discussed his plans to create a new AI system called TruthGPT. He described it as a “maximum truth-seeking AI” that aims to understand the nature of the universe.
Musk believes that an AI system that cares about understanding the universe is less likely to pose a threat to humanity because humans are an interesting part of the universe.
In January, Microsoft Corporation (MSFT.O) announced an additional multi-billion dollar investment in OpenAI, escalating competition with its rival Google and driving the race to attract AI funding in Silicon Valley.
He criticized OpenAI, the company behind the popular chatbot ChatGPT and backed by Microsoft, for “training the AI to lie”. He also stated that OpenAI has become a “closed source”, “for-profit” organization closely tied to Microsoft.
“It has the potential of civilizational destruction,” he said.
Musk was a co-founder of OpenAI in 2015, but he resigned from the board of directors in 2018. In 2019, he explained via Twitter that he left OpenAI to concentrate on his work at Tesla and SpaceX.
I had to focus on solving a painfully large number of engineering & manufacturing problems at Tesla (especially) & SpaceX

He also tweeted that, at the time of his departure from OpenAI, other reasons included Tesla competing for some of the same employees as OpenAI and not aligning with certain goals of the OpenAI team.
