Gate.io crypto exchange leaked a potential Pump.fun token sale, which revealed plans for a $600 million offering at a $4 billion FDV. However, the page is no longer available, leaving crypto enthusiasts questioning the announcement's authenticity and wondering if it was an early leak or if the deal has been cancelled.
However, previous reports announced a Pump.fun token launch in June, in a $1 billion raise at $4 billion valuation.
Pump.fun is a Solana-based token launch platform, launched on January 19, 2024.
Gate.io's Pump.fun Token Sale Announcement on July 8
On July 8, Gate.io shared a Pump.fun token sale page, revealing a $600 million offering at a $4 billion FDV, according to notes on X. The launch page showed the following details:
- PUMP token valuation at 0.004 USDT
- No fundraising information
- The total sale amount at 150 billion PUMP tokens
- The total supply at 1 trillion PUMP tokens
The page also showed the event's phases, including the sale start time on July 12 at 23:30, and the sale ending time on July 15 at 23:30. The countdown showed on the page was over 4 days and 17 hours at the moment a user screenshotted it.
While neither Gate.io or Pump.fun platform commented after the exchange took down the PUMP token sale website, previous reports did reveal a Pump.fun token launch in June.
Pump.fun's Plans for a Token Sale
At the beginning of June, we reported that the Solana meme coin creation platform was reportedly planning a token sale that could raise $1 billion. The token was said to be sold to both public and private investors and the token valuation was expected to reach $4 billion.
Back then, the exact launch was not confirmed and Pump.fun did not make any comments about the matter last month.
Currently, Gate.io does not show the Pump.fun token sale details anymore.
A few hours ago, on July 8, Triad prediction market on Solana also shared the latest events in a post via X, highlighting that so far, there's been no official announcement from Pump.fun.
According to its predictions, 25% of predictors see a token launch between October and December, while 85% suggest an upcoming Pump.fun token launch between July and September 2025.
The fact that Gate.io took down its previous announcement might suggest a potential delay in the upcoming PUMP token launch. It remains to be seen if the platform will hold a PUMP token sale on July 12, as the exchange's now-deleted page revealed on July 8.
