Six engineers, dubbing themselves the “Six Samurai”, have formulated a revival plan for the beleaguered network.
They are motivated by a desire to rebuild the Terra Classic ecosystem, independent from the shadow of its disgraced founder Do Kwon, and the fractious fork of Terra 2.0.
The “Six Samurai”, co-led by pseudonymous members “Bilbo Baggins” and “Solid Snake”, have submitted a governance proposal to the Terra Classic community, seeking $116,000 for a three-month commitment to part-time development work.
They bring to the table an optimistic outlook for the future of the LUNC token, currently valued at $580 million.
“LUNC has limitless upside potential. We want to help realize it by leveraging our skills to bring value to the blockchain and all its investors in order to accomplish a true revival of the ecosystem”, the team declared.
Their proposal includes a series of strategic upgrades aimed at enhancing the Terra Classic network. Among these, the Samurai seek to optimize node synchronization, develop a TerraUSD (USTC) testnet for financial services testing, an application for generating yield for token holders, and a plan to incentivize developers based on user activity of their applications.
However, as the team embarks on this bold quest to revive the once-thriving Terra Classic, the memory of the blockchain’s previous collapse looms large.
The precipitous 99.9% drop in LUNA token prices, which led to a staggering $28 billion loss in Terra-based DeFi applications, cannot be forgotten. It is a testament to the resilience of the crypto community that such efforts to resuscitate Terra Classic are underway.
