Binance’s CZ just detailed what he calls a “tricky situation” about a newly launched token on four.meme platform. TST coin was launched yesterday by the BNB Chain team as a test, but managed to skyrocket, reaching almost $500,000 in market cap immediately after launch.
BNB Chain Team Launches TST Token on Four.Meme Platform
In a new post on X today, Binance‘s CZ explained that he was contacted by a BNB Chain team member who said that the team did a step-by-step video education for launching meme coins on the four.meme platform.
In the video, the team launched a test token called TST as an example. However, when they posted the education video the other day, there was a frame at 1:18 where the name of the token was uncovered.
That was the moment when the community KOL started to trade the token and promote it, leading to a significant surge in its market cap to almost $500,000 after launch.
CZ said that the team member related the video after learning what had happened, but the Internet “does not forget.”
CZ also noted that he recommended the team put the video tutorial back online, highlighting that he is not supporting nor promoting the coin.
According to CZ, the team member also deleted the private key for the creator address that was used in the tutorial, which holds 0.13% of the token, and no one on the team or at Binance holds any coins.
CZ said that this is not an official token by the BNB Chain team, and it was just a test token used for the video tutorial.
TST Surges by Over 43,000% Since Launch
However, the coin is now up by over 43,000%, having a market cap close to $40 million, data from DEXScreener shows.
On-chain data shows that top traders of TST made hundreds of thousands of dollars trading the coin.
Four.meme is a platform that can be used to create memecoins, but care is advised due to their volatile nature.
